Incendies directed by Denis Villeneuve is based on a play written by Wajdi Mouawad.  It was Canada's official submission to the 83rd Academy Awards, and was nominated one of the five finalists for Best Foreign Language Film.

This was an incredibly well crafted film filled with powerful imagery and unforgettable moments.  Villeneuve creates a marvelous atmosphere right from the opening scene, an intense slow motion sequence backed by Radiohead's You and Whose Army

I also loved the storytelling, pacing and development, how each of the shocking details were slowly revealed and how they were convincingly played by the entire cast.  Incendies is one of the best films of 2010, I can't wait to see what Villeneuve comes up with next.

I agree with you! This is one of the best films of 2011. The openning sequence was IMO an homage to Kubrick's opening of Full Metal Jacket... I don't know if you have seen other films by Villeneuve but you should check out Polytechnique a true story about a shooting in a College in Montreal. Gripping!
