Genre: Adventure / Drama
Director:Aleksei Uchitel
Starring: Vladimir Mashkov, Yulia Peresild, Anjorka Strechel
Duration: 124 min.
Summary:
After the end of WWII, a decorated war hero Ignat, is posted to a remote labor camp in Siberia as a train engineer. Shortly after his arrival, he sets out to find a ghost engine on a nearby island.
IMDB
The Edge, directed by Aleksei Uchitel is Russia's official submission to the Foreign Language Film category of the 83rd Academy Awards. An entertaining and enjoyable film, though maybe a bit commercially oriented and full of Russian stereotypes. Most memorably there are some brilliantly filmed train racing scenes.
